Why Bastion is required while Ethical Wall or DLP is the only requirement?

The Bastion offers filtering of HTTP/HTTPS traffic. The clients that use this kind of traffic are Mobile
clients as well as Skype for Business WebApp.

When there is a requirement that certain information would not show up on an employee’s Mobile
phone or in a Conference Web App, the Bastion should be deployed to filter with the traffic going to
HTTP/HTTPS based clients.

Note that this includes Web App clients which are able to connect anonymously. If Anonymous Web
App connection to meetings is allowed in the environment it is recommended to also install the
Bastion to cover Anonymous Web App logins.

When Anonymous Web App login is disabled, the Bastion is used to filter Authenticated Web App
traffic and Mobile phone traffic.

In order to apply the Bastion as part of the DLP/Ethical Wall you would need to check the “Bastion”
box in the appropriate settings area.
