Enabling Skype for a Subset of Users
Customers may sometimes wish to enable SphereShield for Skype for some of their users before rolling out to the entire organisation.
There are a couple of ways to do this.
Load balancer / Network configuration
Test users could be instructed to connect to a specific WIFI network.
A network LB could then be used to route Skype traffic originating from the specified WIFI network to Bastion RP servers and other traffic directly to the Skype servers.
The option will route traffic based on network origin and does not require any specific configuration of SphereShield.
Pool Configuration
Where the organisation has multiple Skype pools, one can be designated as a SphereShield pool or a new pool can be created for this purpose.
Users who are intended to use SphereShield can be assigned to the SphereShield designated pool and others assigned to a diffrerent pool.
Each pool has its own host name e.g. pool1.customer.com which is used for user traffic.
DNS/LBs can be configured to send traffic for the relevant pool to SphereShield servers and other traffic to bypass them.
