Does disabling the SIP Filter affect a working SfB environment?

Q: I would like to test PC Remote User Login functionality.  This is not working at the moment and before I go deeper into the SIP Filter, I'd like to verify that the Remote User Login works.

Therefore my question is: Does the logon of a remote user work even when the SIP Filter Service is stopped?

A: Desktops can connect if you shut down the SIP Filter.

They just won’t do it through the SphereShield for SfB product and won’t be registered in the Admin Portal. If you want to control (approve or block) desktops as you currently do with mobile

devices you will have to use the SIP Filter. When the computers authenticate with the Edge without the SIP Filter it works as if the SphereShield product isn’t installed, as if it were

just another regular authentication in Skype for Business.

Note: It might take Skype for Business services a few minutes to stop forwarding traffic to the SIP Filter
