How to install full-text search on an existing database?

In case there is a need to install full-text search on existing database.

  1. Start the installation and sealect “New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation”.

2. Press next until you get to the Installation Type screen.

3. In the Installation Type screen pick the instance you wish to add this feature to and then press Next.

4. Check the checkbox next to the Full-Text and Semantic Extraction Search before moving on.

5. You can press the next button on the next screens until the installation is complete.
