Ethical Wall Policy Cache - How it Works

AGAT Ethical Wall components store a cache for every Ethical Wall incident to improve calculation speed.

In this guide we will see how to configure the cache validity, and how can we clear all existing cache immediately.

Ethical Wall Settings

Policy rules memory cache time (minutes): Every X minutes the Ethical Wall engine will check the Ethical Wall policy rules to check for new policies or changes in existing policies. Still the policy might not be applied due to the cache stored for this incident. The validity of this cache is configured on the next setting - Calculated Policy cache validity period (hours).

Calculated Policy cache validity period (hours): The validity in hours of Ethical Wall cache stored for every incident (both allow\block). Higher value will improve performance. Smaller value will cause AGAT components to perform more calculations as the cache validity is shorter.

After every change you make in settings above you should get a request to restart relevant components - please click “Restart Relevant Components”.

If you don’t see a restart option, please restart all components manually from “Service Management”

Clear User Cache Immediately

If you made any change related to user policy, either in AGAT portal or in Active Directory, and you want the new policy to be applied immediately, please do bellow 2 steps:

  1. Under “User Policy Cache” type the user UPN in “Local User”, “Search”, select all relevant records and delete them

Then do the same with “Other User”

  2. Under “Ethical Wall Maintenance”, type user UPN and click “Reset Ethical Wall Data”

  3. Restart all AGAT components
